Oct 20, 2017. City of Montpelier posted a Request for Proposals for Recreation Facilities Feasibility Study
The City of Montpelier invited recreation consulting firms to bid on a project to produce a feasibility study for facility development for indoor recreation. Jump & Splash provided assistance to the City in the drafting of this RFP.
Oct 2, 2017. Public Panel Presentation: "How to Build a Recreation Center"
Hosted by Jump & Splash and held in the high school cafeteria, this public forum featured representatives from Claremont N.H. who explained how that community mobilized and marshaled resources to create the major new recreation facility that opened there in 2013.
Sept 12, 2017. Co-founder of Durango CO Recreation Center visits Jump & Splash working meeting
Marjorie Brinton was a member of Durango, CO's recreation advisory board when that town mobilized to build a new recreation center. Marjorie stopped by to share the story and answer task force members' questions. We are featuring this center in our blog.
May, 2017. Task Force Representatives Attend Workshop on Aquatic and Recreational Facility Development
Two task force members attended the USA Swimming Build-A-Pool conference in Denver. This three-day workshop packs a wealth of information about the funding, development, design, management and operation of multi-functional recreational facilities (Thanks to the Montpelier Dept of Public Services for partial financial support of our attendance!)

Entitled "The community that plays together stays together," this article surveys current activity at the city's Rec Center on Barre St., as well as possibilities for the future, from a variety of points of view. Worth a read!

Main topics addressed: welcome new task force members Lynn Wild and Emmanuel Riby-WIlliams; review of vision, terms, procedures, and online presence; report on meeting and beginning collaboration with city Recreation Department; plans to attend USA Swimming Build-a-Pool workshop.

Dec 14, 2016. We Presented at Montpelier's City Council Meeting
Task force members Dot Helling, Sandy Vitzthum, and Gianna Petito presented an update of our progress to the Montpelier City Council. We provided an executive summary of our preliminary survey results and directed council members to our new website. Mayor Hollar called this a tremendous effort and thanked us for our work. The presentation can be seen starting at minute 61:34 of ORCA Media's video of the meeting.
